Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with a Columbia Bugaboo II Fleece Sleeping bag, here’s a picture from the internet as a FYI (randomly selected site):
http://backpackingsurvival.com/buy/columbia-bugaboo-ii-liner-sleeping-bag/

I think that its really a zip-upable fleece blanket with a nylon outer layer ? They describe it as a sleeping a bag liner, but I don’t need a liner for my bag, I was wondering about what else I could use it for and if anyone has one ?
How tought is the exterior, could I use it outside, on the ground ?

There are a few on sale locally for $15 and I was wondering about getting one – needs to be in the next day or 2 !
I admit I didn’t know that I “needed” one until I saw that price tag, and not I’m wondering what I’d do with it if a got one

Thanks

It would make a nice summer weight bag IMHO, add a bivi bag and would be good in mild weather too...

Honestly I wouldn't bother with most of them, most of the cheap ones use cheap generic fleece which pills very quickly.
That said I have seen a good one on occasion. I think with these you really need to pick them up and handle them to know what the quality is like.
Might be OK as a throw-away liner for a woollen blanket

I have a polar fleece bag that I've been using as a summer sleeping bag/blanket when heading into the Riverina district of NSW during the hotter summer months.
I've also used it on occasion as an extra liner inside my alpine bag when camping out in snow.
It has been great but it has mainly been used within the confines of a camper & not by itself out in the open.
As Karl suggested it would probably be fine in a bivvy bag but I dont think I'd be relying on it as a primary source of bedding if used outdoors.

Thanks for all the input. I decided not to get it, I'll stick with what I have - its just that I find it hard to pass up a "bargain" wheather I need it or not !
