The soles on my beloved Red Wings finally lost a big chunk today after developing cracks about a year ago. I wear these almost daily so I'm fairly happy that they have lasted 5 years.
I bought these when living in China (the AUD:USD rate was very good back then) and paid a decent price but I nearly fell off my chair when I looked at the replacement costs in Australia at the moment. Needles to say, replacing the soles should be well worth it as the uppers are in excellent nick thanks to regular treatments of lanolin and beeswax.
Aside from sending them back to Red Wing, can anyone reccomend a good place for a new set of treads? I don't mind paying for postage so long as I can keep the costs reasonable although something in Brisbane would be preferred.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Cheers
Phil
