I don't own a hammock - haven't entirely ruled out getting one- but I thought that you good people that do, might be interested in this,.... if you don't already know about them.

I've got these on my DIY hammock. they cut down the weight and bulk of the suspension a fair bit. I don't know what the long term wear on the amsteel will be.

I understand people wanting to cut down on weight but for few grams I'd rather carry a carabiner rated to 500kg that can be used for other purposes other than hammock suspension (not for climbing).
