Hi
Just wanted to share my first knife project.
Bought an Artisan Supplies knife kit more than 5 years ago and it sat in the cupboard until last weekend still in its packet Couldn’t do much outside with all this rain so had a go.
1/8” 1075 steel, Gidgee scales (bought some orange G10 liners), brass pins and lanyard tube.
I used a 1x30 belt sander, rasps, files, small Bernzomatic firebrick forge, canola oil quench, sandpaper, polishing pads, strop, lenght of wood planed with a 7 degree side to use as a grinding guide.
Followed the instructions supplied and ground a 14 degree (incl.) primary bevel with 40 degree secondary bevel.
Just finished the veg tanned leather sheath this afternoon (election knife 😆)
Anyway, here is the result

Paper slice test only. Too scared to try the brass bar test, or chop ice or whatever the currently toughness test is. If it fails when camping I will just resharpen. Just a small 3” pocket knife really. Probably should have used thinner steel for better slicing, but wanted a mini Bushlore look and the 1075 was, what it was.
