My apologies, it's the Brit PLCE system. This is how they fit to your belt

That is actually a very clever idea. Much better than the pesky Alice clips that have come undone on me many times when I was a cadet.

You didn't zip tie them once you had your webbing setup?

Zip ties work great to hold Alice clips in, the new plastic clips are crap.

Never thought of that or been told that before. Where do you zip tie? From the top loop to the bottom loop formed by the frame and pin?

I used to put the pouch on like you were meant to. Then run a zip tie through the loop at the top, around the whole clip and under the bend at the bottom.

So after much fiddling around with this idea I have essentially ended up with a full webbing set which is not really what I had in mind. LOL. So at this stage I may have to scrap this idea and use the Bum Bag I got and use it as a satchel bag to which I can attach a water bottle pouch and first aid kit pouch to the outside. I think were it goes awry is having a seperate pouch for everything it suddenly becomes too big, and you move away from the essentials into everything and the kitchen sink.
I hooked up the bum bag to an old Bren gun sling I have (I love the quick detach) and am trying it out like that.
