Ah, thanks Keith. I had no idea what a wira was before that. I have seen these before but are they unique to the central desert or are they more widely spread? I wonder if they are known by other names elsewhere? Anyone know?

From what I understand a Wira is a digging bowl, where as a Coolamon is a container for collecting food or carrying a baby. These vessels are most likely called by different names by different groups.
