Hi All...

The south coast knife show was asking for extra participants since quite a few of the NSW guys are heading off to Japan.

It is $20 a table and at 5 weeks out from the show I decided to have a go.. Its been like a rollercoaster and things have happened fast. I have decided on my business model and am starting very small with 2 knife designs I really enjoy using.. My focus at this stage is knives specifically for bushcraft/camping and carving..

Edit - I will make the 3 inch woodlore design inspired by Wentworth by order and only for this forum (see below details on how to submit your name to my order list if interested)

Hence "Mefflin Knives" is officially born...

Here are some pics of the whittler I am taking with me. 3-3.5mm O1 steel with a scandi grind..

I'll also be completing some woodlore designs similar to this for the show..

It's a big moment for me to actually sell one of my knives as I have been waiting til I was confident I could produce something worthwhile.

I'm curious about the whittler. What's the background to the handle style? I've not seen one like that but don't really keep up on these things.

Its very similar to a design from a maker adventure sworn in the US. Its basically a Scandinavian puukko blade with a full tang handle..

Handle shape is my design and quite versatile (though I am not the first to use that shape..).. It will be easy to grip the blade by the pommel when unsheathing it as well as some other things..
