plastic bottles - turning them into strong cordage

I know this isn't new but I think this guy deserves his own discussion / link.

Has anybody tried this in construction of something? It looks like an awesome recycling / cheap construction technique.

I've never "constructed" big items with the cordage, but I use it when I'm bundling things to dispose of.
A single strand is not very strong, but wrapping multi layers improves the strength.

Its very light weight, so I carry a small spool in my day pack

Grim workshop make several different types. I've seen the eBay ones, but the reviews are pretty poor.

I've been thinking about getting one as plastic bottles are everywhere

Thanks for the insight. I imagine the cordage shrinking with heat is a very handy thing for holding joints tight
