Project: Sky craft

Description:
You have 3 simple activities for this project the first is to make a Crux clock, second is to demonstrate how to use a watch to tell North in the Southern Hemisphere, third and last is to Demonstrate the method of telling approximate time using your hands and the sun.

Tools Required:

- a Analogue watch
- computer and printer
- Hole punch of some description
- Laminator (Not necessary)
- Scissors
TIP:
- Never run with scissors.

Materials:
- printer paper
- Paper or card

Skills required:
- Fine motor skills
- Basic Bushcraft

Time needed: time required for a “competent” bushcrafter at a leisurely pace

Learning Outcomes:
- basic bush skills that do not rely on Technology
- Understanding past ways of navigation and time telling
- An appreciation of the predictable motion of the sun and stars
- How the Sun and stars can be used to determine direction and tell time

Assessment Criteria:
To successfully complete this project you must present :
- make a crux clock with photos
- Test and use the clock
- describe in both photos and words how to Find North using a watch
- Write and demonstrate using hands to give approximate time of day

Instructions :
- Do Not look directly into the sun


Cleanup :
- Pack away all tools

    Date: This project was completed on 20/5/2013

    Picture 1- 6 Showing the assembly and finished project including after testing it at night for accuracy.

    Description:
    After printing out crux clock from the net I cut the 3 pieces out and laminated them then recut made holes in all 3 pieces then fixed them together with a 4mm Eyelet. When Completed I tested the clock .
