Distribution: Most of mainland excepting coastal regions of North and East Australia, and esperance region of WA.
Habitat: Scrubs and forests with shrubby understorey in drier areas.
Field Notes: grey-brown bird with a burnt orange throat and chest. 22-27 cm. Bill is pink, tipped dark. Wattlebird.
