Tarp set ups

Thought this was a pretty good summary of some popular ways to set up a tarp. I almost always use the rain fly with my hammock but I would like to set it up in "porch mode" when I get some hiking poles.

Pretty handy its missing the Plow Point though.

Thanks for the useful post! Here's another, called the Manta. Tried it out today. Charlie is 24kg for comparison. I got this from the SnugPak website. http://community.snugpak.com/create-manta-weather-shelter/

I don't know if this is also called the plough nose!

The plow point has the advantage of giving you shelter with a smaller tarp as the diagonal length is used.

How about this blokes tarp set up? Perfectly taut with plenty of guy lines

Perhaps one day we will carry a genetically modified organism that weaves a tarp out of local materials and spider silk.
