What is there to complain about ?
Seriously , aside from possibly the blade steel ( edge retention ) I cant find anything to really complain about .
The factory edge was some what FUBAR , but no where near as some . On one side there is still about 1 inch of FUBAR because of the way the edge was ground .

Slicing rope !

It was 70% humidity ..
And the paper did suck in some moisture ..
@ 150 slices I went inside and the knife just passed the paper slice test .
At 200 the test was very iffy ! So ill just call it a soft fail .
Damned 2022 has been humid !

Knife has a fresh wet stone grinder edge , I havent changed the factory bevel angle ...
So ASAP I will cut / slice rope again .

A) I reground the edge to match the factory angle
B) I checked the angle of the edge after the slice test
C) The angle was ( Around ) 15 degrees .. Due to the way the edge is ground , it's hard to be 100% .. But that is very tight for 14c28n .

Slicing rope , we got a 350 slice fail with a rolled edge . ( @ 15 degrees )
It's a very thin blade at the edge ( behind the edge ) and for what ever reason , this one got a 15 degree bevel .
Yeah , the blade steel wont support that . And I will have to retest at a later date with something a little more sensible like maybe 18 degrees .
The edge did strop back strong ... If that matters . Performance was above average ( good range ) .
And it is a very slice 'y blade design .

Ok , I like the knife ... I like everything except the 15 degree bevel .. ( It just rolled too well )

Ok . A little more ......
I put a 18 degree bevel on the knife ..
And cleaned / stropped the edge like supper hard ..
It rolled badly enough to fail at 100 slices ... ( ? ) Hu ?

So I cleaned the edge , stropped it shaving sharp , & ......... Rolled at 100 slices badly enough to fail the paper slice test !

Oh dear !

So I put it back on the wet stone grinder .....
And I took notice of the burr when grinding ...
It was quite a burr ... It took twice as much effort to clean as I usually do ..
My kingdom for a rockwell hardness tester ... ( I cant afford one )
But my guess is ............ Soft .. Too damned soft !

So why did 15 degrees work ?
Maybe the edge was fine enough that , even though it was rolling . It could still cut ?
Or it was the wet stone grinder edge ?
Either way , the knife wears a wet stone grinder edge now .
